     Sir Gilbert Dolben, 1st Bt. was born circa 1658.² He was the son of Most Rev. John Dolben and Catherine Sheldon.^1,2 He married Anne Mulso, daughter of Tanfield Mulso, before 1683.² He died on 22 October 1722.²
     He was educated at Christ Church, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England.² He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Ripon in 1685.² He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Peterborough between 1689 and 1698.² He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Peterborough between 1701 and 1710.² He was created 1st Baronet Dolben, of Finedon [England] in 1704.¹ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Yarmouth between 1710 and 1713.²

     Esther Ruth was the daughter of John Ruth.¹ She married, secondly, Rear-Admiral Sir Edmund Affleck, 1st Bt, son of Gilbert Affleck and Anna Dolben.¹ She married, firstly, Peter Creffield.¹ She died on 15 December 1787.¹
     Her married name became Creffield.¹ Her married name became Affleck.¹

     Peter Creffield married Esther Ruth, daughter of John Ruth.¹

     Margaret Burgess is the daughter of John Burgess and Suzannah Nicolls.² She married, firstly, William Smithers.¹ She married, secondly, Rear-Admiral Sir Edmund Affleck, 1st Bt, son of Gilbert Affleck and Anna Dolben, on 14 May 1788 at St. Marylebone Church, Marylebone Road, Marylebone, London, England^G.¹ She married, thirdly, Major John MacKinnon on 15 August 1792.¹
     She lived at New York, U.S.A.^G.¹ Her married name became Smithers.¹ From 14 May 1788, her married name became Affleck.¹ From 15 August 1792, her married name became MacKinnon.¹

     William Smithers married Margaret Burgess, daughter of John Burgess and Suzannah Nicolls.¹
     He lived at Colchester, Essex, England^G.¹

     Major John MacKinnon married Margaret Burgess, daughter of John Burgess and Suzannah Nicolls, on 15 August 1792.¹
     He lived at Glasgow, Lanarkshire, Scotland^G.¹ He gained the rank of Major in the 63rd Foot.¹

     John Affleck was born on 12 February 1712.^1,2 He was the son of Gilbert Affleck and Anna Dolben.¹ He married Sarah Metcalfe, daughter of James Metcalfe and Mary Benson, on 31 July 1736 at Fordham, Cambridgeshire, England.³ He died on 5 March 1774 at age 62.¹
     He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Suffolk between 1743 and 1761.¹ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Agmondesham between 1767 and 1768.¹

     Sir Gilbert Affleck, 2nd Bt. was born on 24 December 1740.¹ He was the son of John Affleck and Sarah Metcalfe.¹ He married Mary Clark, daughter of Thomas Clark, on 18 July 1796.¹ He died on 17 July 1808 at age 67, without issue.¹ His will was proven (by probate) on 7 October 1808.¹
     His last will was dated 28 January 1779. He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Affleck, of Dalham Hall, co. Suffolk [G.B., 1782] on 19 November 1788.¹
