     Tryphena Russell is the daughter of Lord James Russell and Elizabeth Lloyd.^1,3 She married Thomas Scawen.
     Her married name became Scawen.

     Lord James Russell was born after 1640. He was the son of William Russell, 1st Duke of Bedford and Lady Anne Carr.^1,2 He married Elizabeth Lloyd, daughter of Richard Lloyd and Tryphena Lisle.³ He married, secondly, Elizabeth Wright, daughter of Sir Edmund Wright and Jane Mills. He died on 22 June 1712.³

     Cyril Flower, 1st and last Baron Battersea of Battersea was born on 30 August 1843.¹ He was the son of Philip William Flower and Mary Flower.¹ He married Constance de Rothschild, daughter of Sir Anthony Nathan Rothschild, 1st Bt. and Louisa Montefiore, on 22 November 1877.² He died on 27 November 1907 at age 64 at Pier Hotel, Ryde, Isle of Wight, England^G, from pneumonia.¹ He was buried on 2 December 1907 at Overstrand, Norfolk, England^G.² His will was proven (by probate), at over £136,000 gross, but nil net.²
     He was educated at Harrow School, Harrow, London, England^G.¹ He was educated at Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England^G.¹ He was admitted to Inner Temple in 1870 entitled to practise as a Barrister-at-Law.¹ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Liberal) for Brecknock between 1880 and 1885.¹ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Liberal) for South Bedfordshire between 1885 and 1892.¹ He held the office of Junior Lord of the Treasury from February 1886 to July 1886.² He was created 1st Baron Battersea of Battersea, co. London and of Overstrand, Norfolk [U.K.] on 5 September 1892.² He lived at Aston Clinton, Buckinghamshire, England^G.¹
     On his death, the Barony Battersea of Battersea became extinct.²
