Sir Thomas Hanmer, 4th Bt. was born on 24 September 1677.3 He was the son of William Hanmer and Peregrine North.3,4 He married, secondly, Elizabeth Folkes, daughter of Thomas Folkes.3 He married Isabella Bennet, Countess of Arlington, daughter of Henry Bennet, 1st Earl of Arlington and Isabella van Nassau-Beverweert, on 14 October 1698.1 He died on 5 May 1746 at age 68, without issue.1
He succeeded as the 4th Baronet Hanmer [E., 1620] in 1701.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Thetford from 1701 to 1702.3 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Flintshire between 1702 and 1705.3 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Thetford between 1705 and 1708.3 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Suffolk between 1708 and 1727.3 He held the office of Speaker, House of Commons between 1713 and 1715.1 On his death, his baronetcy became extinct.3
