     He was also known as Claud Archibald Aubrey Hamilton. He was educated at Uppingham School, Uppingham, Rutland, England^G.¹ He graduated from Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England^G, in 1910 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)¹ He was appointed Member, Order of the British Empire (M.B.E.) in 1920.¹ He was in the Egyptian Civil Service.¹ He was awarded the Order of the Nile 4th class.¹

     Evelyn Addison Chater is the daughter of Thomas Addison Chater.¹ She married Claud Archibald Aubrey Douglas-Hamilton, son of Lieutenant Aubrey Reginald Douglas-Hamilton and Lucy Fitzgerald, on 8 October 1915.¹
     Her married name became Hamilton.

     Thomas Addison Chater died before 1970.
     He lived at Chesham Bois, Berkshire, England^G.

     Evelyn Daphne Douglas-Hamilton was born on 19 July 1916.¹ She was the daughter of Claud Archibald Aubrey Douglas-Hamilton and Evelyn Addison Chater.¹ She married, firstly, Reverend Jack Rawlins, son of Joseph Rawlins, on 6 June 1940.¹ She married, secondly, Hedley Boardman, son of Frank Boardman, on 5 October 1956.¹ She died on 16 January 2003 at age 86.²
     She was State Registered Nurse in 1940.¹
