She married, firstly, Adolf Wilhelm Karl Prinz zu Schaumburg-Lippe, son of Adolf Georg Prinz zu Schaumburg-Lippe and Hermine Prinzessin zu Waldeck und Pyrmont, on 19 November 1890.² She married, secondly, Alexander Anatolievitch Zoubkoff, son of Anatol Zoubkoff and Mary Kornelia Frykberg, on 19 November 1927 at Bonn, Nordrhein-Westfahlen, Germany^G, in a civil marriage, and were remarried 2 days later in a religious ceremony, in Berlin.² She died on 13 November 1929 at age 63 at Bonn, Nordrhein-Westfahlen, Germany^G.²

She married Konstantinos I zu Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Glücksburg, King of the Hellenes, son of William George I zu Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Glücksburg, King of the Hellenes and Olga Konstantinovna Romanova, Grand Duchess of Russia, on 27 October 1889 at Athens, Greece^G.² She died on 13 January 1932 at age 61.² She was buried in November 1936 at Tatoi, Greece^G.
     She gained the title of Prinzessin von Preußen (styled as HRH Princess of Prussia.¹) From 18 March 1913, her married name became Queen Sophie of Greece.²

She married Bernhard III Friedrich Wilhelm Albert Georg Herzog von Sachsen-Meiningen und Hildburghausen, son of Georg II Herzog von Sachsen-Meiningen und Hildburghausen and Friederike Luise Wilhelmine Marianne Charlotte Prinzessin von Preußen, on 18 February 1878.¹ She died on 1 October 1919 at age 59 at Baden-Baden, Baden-Württemburg, Germany.¹

     Irene Luise Maria Anna Prinzessin von Hessen und bei Rhein was born on 11 July 1866 at Darmstadt, Hessen, Germany^G.¹ She was the daughter of Ludwig IV Friedrich Wilhelm Karl Großherzog von Hessen und bei Rhein and Alice Maud Mary Saxe-Coburg and Gotha, Princess of the United Kingdom.² She married Albrecht Wilhelm Heinrich Prinz von Preußen, son of Friedrich III, Deutscher Kaiser, König von Preußen and Victoria Adelaide Mary Louisa Saxe-Coburg and Gotha, Princess Royal of the United Kingdom, on 24 May 1888 at Schloss Charlottenburg, Berlin, Germany^G.¹ She died on 11 November 1953 at age 87 at Hemmelmark, Schleswig-Holstein, Germany^G.¹
     She adopted Barbara Irene Adelheid Viktoria Elisabeth Bathildis Prinzessin von Preußen on 23 January 1953.³

He married Charlotte Agnes Prinzessin von Sachsen-Altenburg, daughter of Ernst II Bernhard Herzog von Sachsen-Altenburg and Friederike Adelheid Marie Luise Hilda Eugenie Prinzessin zu Schaumburg-Lippe, on 11 July 1919 at Hemmelmark, Schleswig-Holstein, Germany^G.¹ He died on 14 November 1978 at age 81 at Puntarenas, Costa Rica^G.¹

     He succeeded as the Großherzog Ernst Ludwig von Hessen und bei Rhein on 13 March 1892.² He was appointed Knight, Order of the Garter (K.G.)⁴ He was appointed Knight Grand Cross, Order of the Bath (G.C.B.)⁴ He abdicated as Grand Duke of Hesse and By Rhine on 8 November 1918.²
