Edmund Hammond, 1st and last Baron Hammond of Kirkella1 
He was in the Civil Service on 10 October 1823.1 He held the office of Under-Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs between 1854 and 1873.1 He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) in 1866.1 He was created 1st Baron Hammond of Kirkella, in the town and county of the town of Kingston-upon-Hull [U.K.] on 5 March 1874.1
