John Singleton Copley was born on 3 July 1737 at Boston, Massachusetts, U.S.A.1 He was the son of Richard Copley and Mary Singleton.1 He married Susannah Farnum Clarke, daughter of Richard Clarke, on 16 November 1769.1 He died on 9 September 1815 at age 78.1
