     John Ferrier Turing was born on 1 September 1908.1 He is the son of Julius Mathison Turing and Ethel Sara Stoney.2 He married, firstly, Joan Humphreys, daughter of Robert Humphreys, in 1934.1 He and Joan Humphreys were divorced in 1960.1 He married, secondly, Beryl Mary Ada Hann, daughter of Herbert Vaughan Hann, in 1960.2 He died on 21 February 1983 at age 74.1
     He was a practising solicitor in 1931.1 He gained the rank of Second World War.1 He gained the rank of officer in the Queen’s Royal Regiment.1 He was with Claims Commission established by Lord Lyon King of Arms in 1960.1
