James Sandilands, 2nd Lord Torphichen1

     James Sandilands, 2nd Lord Torphichen was born circa 1574.1 He was the son of James Sandilands, 9th of Calder and Jean Ross.2 He married, secondly, Mary Somerville, daughter of Gilbert Somerville, 7th Lord Somerville and Margaret Somerville.3 He married, firstly, Elizabeth Heriot, daughter of James Heriot, 7th of Trabroun and Isabel Maitland, on 1 August 1595.1 He died in August 1617.1
     He succeeded as the 2nd Lord Torphichen, of Saint John of Torphichen, West Lothian [S., 1564] on 29 September 1579.1
