Sir William Stonhouse, 1st Bt. was born circa 1556.1 He was the son of George Stonhouse and Elizabeth Woodroffe.2 He married Elizabeth Powell, daughter of John Powell, on 7 June 1592.1 He died on 5 February 1631/32.1
He was educated at Merchant Taylors’ School, London, England.1 He was admitted to Inner Temple.1 He graduated from University College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG, in 1583 with a Master of Arts (M.A.)1 He held the office of High Sheriff of Oxfordshire in 1606.1 He was created 1st Baronet Stonhouse, of Radley, Berkshire [England] on 7 May 1628.1
