     William Ross was the son of Hugh Ross, 3rd of Balnagowan and Janet (?)2,1 He married Grizel Macdonald.1 He died on 11 June 1486 at Allt Charrais, Scotland, killed in action with many of the clan in battle with the Sutherlands and Mackays.1
     He was Sub-Dean of Ross and Pars of Roskeen.1 He resigned holy orders (replaced by younger brother Thomas.)1 He lived at Little Allan, Scotland.1 He was Parson at Roskeen, County Laois, IrelandG.1
