     Jean Winifred Ropner was born on 3 March 1908 at Stockton-on-Tees, County Durham, England.^1,2 She was the daughter of Leonard Ropner and Georgina Mackay.³ She married Dr. Victor Bremner Purvis, son of Reverend John Bremner Purvis and Elizabeth Annie Willis, on 16 July 1929.¹ She and Dr. Victor Bremner Purvis were divorced before 1945.¹ She died on 7 July 1978 at age 70 at Westminster, London, England.²
     From 16 July 1929, her married name became Purvis.

     Dr. Victor Bremner Purvis was born on 13 August 1904 at Entebbe, Kalangala, Uganda.² He was the son of Reverend John Bremner Purvis and Elizabeth Annie Willis.^3,2 He married, firstly, Jean Winifred Ropner, daughter of Leonard Ropner and Georgina Mackay, on 16 July 1929.¹ He and Jean Winifred Ropner were divorced before 1945.¹ He married, secondly, Joanna Isabel Gibbs, daughter of Reverend Reginald Gibbs and Lucia McCausland, on 1 October 1945.⁴ He died on 26 January 1995 at age 90 at Bullingdon, Oxfordshire, England.²
