Domnall O’Neill, King of Ulster1 
He fought in the Battle of Dundalk in 1399, where he was taken by the English, and sent to the Tower of London.1 In 1401 he was ransomed.1 He gained the title of King of Ulster in 1404.1 He abdicated as King of Ulster in 1410.1 Between 1410 and 1414 he struggled with his eventual successor Eoghan O’Neill, who held him prisoner.1 He gained the title of King of Ulster in 1414.1 He abdicated as King of Ulster in 1419.1 He gained the title of King of Ulster in 1421.1
Niall ‘Og’ O’Neill, King of Ulster1 
Niall ‘Og’ O’Neill, King of Ulster also went by the nick-name of ‘Ua Neill Mor’ (or in English, ‘The Great O’Neill’), a sobriquet used by the heads of this branch to distinguish them from their rivals of the senior or Clannaboy branch.1 He was appointed Knight in 1394 at Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland, by King Richard II.1 He gained the title of King of Ulster in 1394.1

He tried to divorce his second wife in favour of another Burke lady, the wife of Neachtan O’Donell, King of Tir Conaill.1 In 1452 he was forced to take his second wife back by her uncle, 4th Earl of Ormonde.1 He gained the title of King of Ulster in 1455.1 He abdicated as King of Ulster in 1483 in favour of his son.1
