He was educated at Radley College, Radley, Oxfordshire, England.1 He was educated at Royal Military College, Sandhurst, Berkshire, England.1 He gained the rank of Captain in 1949 in the Coldstream Guards.1 He fought in the Malayan Emergency between 1949 and 1950.1 He succeeded as the 3rd Baronet Lawrence, of Sloane Gardens, Chelsea [U.K., 1906] on 16 May 1950.1
