Henry Edward Surtees was born in May 1819 at Darlington, County Durham, England.2 He married Eliza Snell Chauncy, daughter of Charles Snell Chauncy and Elizabeth Beale, in 1843 at Ware, England.1,2 He married Mary Isabella Adams in 1870 at Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, England.2 He died in 1895.2
He lived at Dale End, Hertfordshire, EnglandG. He lived at Redworth Hall, Durham, County Durham, EnglandG. He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the 10th Hussars.2
