     From 15 July 1805, her married name became Hope.

     John Hope was born on 12 May 1807 at Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland.^1,2 He was the son of James Hope and Jane Walker.³ He died, unmarried.¹

     James Horatio Hope was born on 12 March 1881.¹ He was the son of James Edward Hope and Sophia Edmonstone.² He died between 17 April 1916 and 18 April 1916 at Mesopotamia, killed in action.¹
     He gained the rank of Captain and Brevet Major in the Highland Light Infantry.¹ He fought in the First World War, and was mentioned in despatches and was wounded twice.¹ He was awarded the Chevalier, Ordre national de la Légion d’honneur.¹
