James Horatio Hope1

He gained the rank of Captain and Brevet Major in the Highland Light Infantry.1 He fought in the First World War, and was mentioned in despatches and was wounded twice.1 He was awarded the Chevalier, Ordre national de la Légion d’honneur.1
