     Frank Courage was born in June 1838 at Dulwich, Camberwell, Surrey, EnglandG.1 He was the son of John Courage and Susan Hawes.1 He married, firstly, Sarah Amelia Hopwood, daughter of Charles Eliot Marriot Hopwood and Mary Lascelles, in 1862.1 He married, secondly, Marie Julie Barnett, daughter of Emmanuel Barnett, in 1903 at New Zealand.2 He died on 15 May 1918 at age 79 at Walcot, Bath, Somerset, England.2
     He purchased Double Corner in 1863 at New ZealandG.3 He and Sarah Amelia Hopwood emigrated to Canterbury, New ZealandG, arriving on 1863.1 He was a farmer and horse breeder in 1872 at Seadown House, New Zealand.1 He purchased 45,000 acres in 1873 at Southdown, Canterbury, New ZealandG.1 He was New Tag Opening of Line in 1876 at Amberley, Canterbury, New ZealandG.1 He lived in 1901 at Tunbridge Wells, Kent, EnglandG.1
