     Sarah Beresford Cossins was born in 1816.2 She was the daughter of John Cossins and Hon. Susanna Elizabeth Thicknesse-Touchet.1 She married Sir John Hay of Park, 7th Bt., son of Lt-Col. Lewis Hay and Barbara Craigie, on 29 June 1836 at St. Ninians, Stirling, Stirlingshire, ScotlandG.1,3 She died on 29 December 1855.2
     From 29 June 1836, her married name became Hay.
