     Benjamin Edward Somers was born on 20 November 1851 at Axbridge, Somerset, England.1 He was the son of Thomas Somers and Elizabeth Williams.1 He married, firstly, Julia Blanche Impey-Lovibond, daughter of Colonel Archibald Impey-Lovibond and Harriot Gladwin Duppa, on 3 January 1875 at Kensington, London, England.1 He and Julia Blanche Impey-Lovibond were divorced in 1876.1 He married, secondly, Agnes Elizabeth Atkinson, daughter of Reverend John Breeks Atkinson and Jane Isabella Johnston, on 23 January 1879.1 He died in 1934 at Axbridge, Somerset, England.1
     He was admitted to Lincoln’s Inn on 30 May 1871.1 He graduated from Merton College Church, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG, in 1880 with a Master of Arts (M.A.)1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Somerset.1
