William Stothert1

He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Dumfries-shire.1 He wrote the book A narrative of the principal events of the campaigns of 1809, 1810, & 1811, in Spain and Portugal.5 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Dumfries-shire.1 He gained the rank of Captain in the Coldstream Guards.1 He lived at Cargen, Dumfries-shire, ScotlandG.1 He fought in the Battle of Waterloo on 18 June 1815, where he was wounded.4
