He was given the name of Thomas Hugh Clifford at birth.2 He was created 1st Baronet Clifford, of Tixall, Staffordshire [U.K.] on 22 May 1815, at the request of King Louis XVIII of France.1,2 In 1821 his name was legally changed to Thomas Hugh Constable by sign manual.1,2
