Thomas Clement Dunbar was born on 6 September 1825 at Cape Province, South Africa.¹ He was the son of James Dunbar and Anna Catharina van Reede d’Oudtshoorn.² He married Caroline Adriana Matthews, daughter of Albert Matthews, on 24 July 1849 at Dinapore, Bengal, India.^1,3 He and Caroline Adriana Matthews were divorced in 1875.³ He died on 16 March 1896 at age 70 at Holborn, London, England.^1,3
     He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the 75th Regiment.¹

     Caroline Adriana Matthews was born on 17 March 1830 at Buxar, Bengal, India.² She was the daughter of Albert Matthews.³ She married Lt.-Col. Thomas Clement Dunbar, son of James Dunbar and Anna Catharina van Reede d’Oudtshoorn, on 24 July 1849 at Dinapore, Bengal, India.^1,2 She and Lt.-Col. Thomas Clement Dunbar were divorced in 1875.² She died in 1912 at West Ham, Essex, England.^1,2
     From 24 July 1849, her married name became Dunbar.

     Richard Taylor Dunbar was born on 14 July 1855 at Peshawar, Bengal, India.^1,2 He was the son of Lt.-Col. Thomas Clement Dunbar and Caroline Adriana Matthews.³ He married, firstly, Helen Maas, daughter of Joseph Maas, on 28 January 1873 at Lambeth, London, England.^1,2 He married, secondly, Grace Mary Stanton, daughter of William Stanton, on 11 March 1890.¹ He married, thirdly, Emma Pond on 20 February 1935.¹ He married Grace Mary Stanton, daughter of William Stanton, on 5 February 1912.¹ He died on 28 January 1940 at age 84 at Norwich, Norfolk, England.^1,2

     From 28 January 1873, her married name became Dunbar.

     Sir Richard Sutherland Dunbar of Mochrum, 11th Bt. was born on 7 June 1873 at Brixton, Surrey, England.^1,2 He was the son of Richard Taylor Dunbar and Helen Maas.³ He married Daisy Kinman, daughter of John Kinman, on 15 June 1911.¹ He died on 25 January 1953 at age 79.¹
     He succeeded as the 11th Baronet Dunbar, of Mochrum, co. Wigtown [N.S., 1694] on 23 January 1953.¹
