     Sir Anthony Colclough was born circa 1520 at Wolstanton, Staffordshire, England.² He was the son of Richard Colclough and Eleanor Draycote.³ He married Clare Agard, daughter of Rt. Hon. Thomas Agard and Elinor Ann Noble, in 1553 at Foston, Derbyshire, England.¹ He died on 9 December 1584.¹
     He lived at Bluerton, Staffordshire, England^G.¹ He lived at Woolstanton, Staffordshire, England^G.¹ In 1540/41 he went to Ireland.¹ He gained the rank of Captain in the Queen Elizabeth I’s Band of Puritans.¹ He held the office of Military Governor of the County Wexford on 21 March 1559.¹ On 27 August 1575 he was granted Tintern Abbey by in fee by Patent, following expiry of the lease held by Sir James Crofts.¹ He was appointed Knight in 1582.¹ He lived at Tintern Abbey, County Wexford, Ireland^G.¹
