He was given the name of Charles Edward Abney-Hastings at birth.1 He succeeded as the 21st Baron Hungerford [E., 1426] on 23 January 1874.2 He succeeded as the 19th Baron Moleyns [E., 1445] on 23 January 1874.2 He succeeded as the 12th Lord Campbell of Loudoun [S., 1601] on 23 January 1874.3 He succeeded as the 11th Earl of Loudoun [S., 1633] on 23 January 1874.3 He succeeded as the 11th Lord Tarrinzean and Mauchline [S., 1633] on 23 January 1874.3 He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the Leicestershire Yeomanry Cavalry.3 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Ayrshire.3 On 8 April 1887 his name was legally changed to Charles Edward Rawdon-Hastings by Royal Licence.3 He succeeded as the 2nd Baron Donington, of Donington Park, co. Leicester [U.K., 1880] on 24 July 1895.1 On his death, his Scottish titles fell into abeyance for a year.3

She was also known as Lady Elizabeth Frances Rawdon-Hastings.2 From 27 April 1916, her married name became Philipps. After her marriage, Lady Elizabeth Frances Abney-Hastings was styled as Viscountess Saint Davids on 17 June 1918. She succeeded as the 22nd Baroness Hungerford [E., 1426] on 17 May 1920.2 She succeeded as the 20th Baroness Moleyns [E., 1445] on 17 May 1920.2 On 9 October 1920 she was granted the rank of an earl’s daughter.1 She was declared by House of Lds resolution coheir to Baronies of Botreaux, Hastings (of Hastings), Hungerford, Moleyns, Stanley and Strange (of Knokyn) on 17 December 1920.2 On 23 February 1921 succeeded her uncle as Baroness Hungerford, Baroness Moleyns and Baroness Strange (of Knokyn) in her own right on termination of the abeyance in those titles.2 She succeeded as the 14th Baroness Strange, of Knokyn [E., 1299] on 23 February 1921, when the title came out of abeyance.2
