Edward Spread Beamish was born on 11 November 1825.¹ He was the son of Reverend Henry Hamilton Beamish and Anne Isabella Spread.¹ He married, firstly, Elizabeth Dougal, daughter of John Dougal, on 17 April 1860.¹ He married, secondly, Diana Spencer Lewin, daughter of Frederick Mortimer Lewin and Augusta Diana Babington, on 3 March 1868.¹ He died on 17 April 1892 at age 66.¹
     He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Royal Artillery.¹ He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.)¹ He lived at Halfway Street House, Bexley, Kent, England^G.¹

     Elizabeth Dougal was the daughter of John Dougal.¹ She married Lt.-Col. Edward Spread Beamish, son of Reverend Henry Hamilton Beamish and Anne Isabella Spread, on 17 April 1860.¹ She died on 22 November 1863.¹
     From 17 April 1860, her married name became Beamish.¹

     Anne Isabella Beamish was born in 1862.¹ She was the daughter of Lt.-Col. Edward Spread Beamish and Elizabeth Dougal.¹ She died on 17 March 1937, unmarried.¹

     Diana Spencer Lewin was the daughter of Frederick Mortimer Lewin and Augusta Diana Babington.¹ She married Lt.-Col. Edward Spread Beamish, son of Reverend Henry Hamilton Beamish and Anne Isabella Spread, on 3 March 1868.¹ She died on 14 November 1903.¹
     From 3 March 1868, her married name became Beamish.¹

     Frederick Mortimer Lewin was born circa 1799.² He married Augusta Diana Babington, daughter of Thomas Gisborne Babington and Hon. Augusta Julia Noel, on 9 April 1839 at Madras, Madras, India.^1,2 He died on 17 June 1877 at Halfway Street, Bexley, Kent, England.²
     He lived at The Hollies, Bexley, Kent, England^G.¹

     Augusta Diana Babington was baptised on 30 June 1815 at Blatherwick, Northamptonshire, England.² She was the daughter of Thomas Gisborne Babington and Hon. Augusta Julia Noel.^1,2 She married Frederick Mortimer Lewin on 9 April 1839 at Madras, Madras, India.^1,2 She died on 25 March 1856 at age 40.³
     From 9 April 1839, her married name became Lewin.¹

     Thomas Gisborne Babington was born on 24 July 1788.² He was the son of Thomas Babington and Jean Macaulay.³ He married, firstly, Hon. Augusta Julia Noel, daughter of Sir Gerard Noel Noel, 2nd Bt. and Diana Middleton, Baroness Barham, on 27 April 1814.^4,2 He married, secondly, Augusta Felicita Françoise Thérèse Hubertin Vecqueray on 28 June 1841 at British Embassy, Frankfurt-am-Main, Hessen, Germany.⁵ He died on 19 January 1871 at age 82.⁴
