Charles Henry Tufton and Stella Josephine Faudel Faudel-Phillips.^1,2 He married Evelyn Margarette Mordaunt, daughter of Eustace Charles Mordaunt and Cicely Marion Tubb, on 3 December 1936.¹ He died in 1991.¹
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.¹ He graduated from Hertford College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England^G, in 1927 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)¹ He gained the rank of Second World War.¹ He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Royal Artillery (Territorial Army.)¹ He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Hertfordshire in 1963.¹ He was awarded the Territorial Decoration (T.D.)¹ He succeeded as the 6th Baronet Tufton, of Appleby Castle, co. Westmorland [U.K., 1851] in 1986.¹ He succeeded as the 5th Baron Hothfield of Hothfield, co. Kent [U.K., 1881] in 1986.¹

     Hon. Charles Henry Tufton was born on 16 May 1879.¹ He was the son of Henry James Tufton, 1st Baron Hothfield of Hothfield and Alice Harriot Argyll Stracey.¹ He married Stella Josephine Faudel Faudel-Phillips, daughter of Sir George Faudel-Philips, 1st Bt., on 17 December 1903.¹ He died on 23 September 1923 at age 44.¹
     He was Assistant Secretary, Foreign Office and Acting Counsellor Diplomatic Service.¹ He was Private Secretary to Parliamentary Secretary Foreign Affairs between 1910 and 1912.¹ He was appointed Companion, Order of St. Michael and St. George (C.M.G.) in 1917.¹

     Sir Richard Tufton, 1st Bt. was born illegitimately in 1813 at France^G.¹ He was the son of Henry Tufton, 11th Earl of Thanet and Julie Durieux.^1,2 He married Adelaide Amelie Lacour, daughter of Julien Valentin Lacour and Jeanne Victoire Blaque, on 22 August 1843 at France.^1,2 He died on 20 June 1871.¹
     He inherited the estates of the 11th Earl of Thanet.¹ He was naturalized as a British subject in 1849.¹ He was created 1st Baronet Tufton, of Appleby Castle, co. Westmorland [U.K.] on 16 January 1851.¹ He held the office of High Sheriff of Kent in 1859.¹

     Adelaide Amelie Lacour was the daughter of Julien Valentin Lacour and Jeanne Victoire Blaque.² She married Sir Richard Tufton, 1st Bt., son of Henry Tufton, 11th Earl of Thanet and Julie Durieux, on 22 August 1843 at France.^1,2 She died on 13 April 1902.¹
     From 22 August 1843, her married name became Tufton.¹

     Alice Harriot Argyll Stracey was baptised on 13 March 1852 at Brighton, Sussex, England.² She was the daughter of Reverend William James Stracey-Clitherow and Maria Diana Bourchier.³ She married Henry James Tufton, 1st Baron Hothfield of Hothfield, son of Sir Richard Tufton, 1st Bt. and Adelaide Amelie Lacour, on 17 December 1872.¹ She died on 29 June 1914 at age 62.¹
     From 17 December 1872, her married name became Tufton.¹ After her marriage, Alice Harriot Argyll Stracey was styled as Baroness Hothfield of Hothfield on 11 October 1881.

     Fancourt Norton-Taylor was born in 1843 at Malta.¹ He was the son of Admiral William Norton-Taylor and Charlotte Tozer Leeder.¹ He married Rosa Elizabeth Logan in 1881 at Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, England.¹ He died in 1937.¹
