     Raymond Guy Vere Nicoll was born in 1915.¹ He is the son of Lt.-Col. Charles Vere Nicoll and Mary Helen Venning.¹ He married Mary Elizabeth Madden, daughter of Admiral Sir Charles Edward Madden, 1st Bt. and Constance Winifred Cayzer, on 16 September 1939.¹ He and Mary Elizabeth Madden were divorced in 1952.¹

     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.² He graduated from Magdalene College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England^G, with a Master of Arts (M.A.)² He was registered as a Member, Institution of Civil Engineers (M.I.C.E.)² He succeeded as the 7th Baronet Tufton, of Appleby Castle, co. Westmorland [U.K., 1851] in 1991.² He succeeded as the 6th Baron Hothfield of Hothfield, co. Kent [U.K., 1881] in 1991.² He lived in 2003 at Drybeck Hall, Appleby-in-Westmorland, Cumbria, England^G.²

     Sir Christopher Albert de Bathe, 6th Bt. was born on 17 September 1905.¹ He was the son of Patrick Wynne de Bathe and Violet Lindsay Wood.¹ He married Edna Winifred Terrell, daughter of Arthur Terrell, on 11 January 1932.¹ He died on 3 June 1941 at age 35.²
     He gained the title of 6th Baronet de Bathe. He fought in the Second World War.² He gained the rank of Pilot Officer in the Royal Air Force.²

     Edna Winifred Terrell is the daughter of Arthur Terrell.¹ She married Sir Christopher Albert de Bathe, 6th Bt., son of Patrick Wynne de Bathe and Violet Lindsay Wood, on 11 January 1932.¹
