     He held the office of Sheriff of Bedfordshire in 1640/41.1 He was created 1st Baronet Burgoyne, of Sutton, co. Bedford [England] on 15 July 1641.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Warwickshire between October 1645 and December 1648.1
