Robert Arbuthnott, 1st Viscount of Arbuthnott1 
Robert Arbuthnott, 1st Viscount of Arbuthnott was the son of Sir Robert Arbuthnott of that Ilk and Margaret Fraser.1 He married, firstly, Lady Marjory Carnegie, daughter of David Carnegie, 1st Earl of Southesk and Margaret Lindsay, in 1639.3 He married, secondly, Catherine Fraser, daughter of Hugh Fraser, 7th Lord (Fraser of) Lovat and Isabel Wemyss, on 30 June 1653.1 He died on 10 October 1655.1
He was a Ruling Elder in the General Assembly of the Scottish Church in 1641.1 He was created 1st Lord Inverbervie, of co. Kincardine [Scotland] on 16 November 1641.1 He was created 1st Viscount of Arbuthnott, of co. Kincardine [Scotland] on 16 November 1641.1 He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) [Scotland] in 1649.1

Margaret Fraser1 
Margaret Fraser was born circa 1601.2 She was the daughter of Simon Fraser, 6th Lord (Fraser of) Lovat and Jean Stewart.1 She married by contract, firstly, Sir Robert Arbuthnott of that Ilk, son of James Arbuthnott of Arrat and Margaret Livingstone, on 29 April 1617.3 She married by contract, secondly, Sir John Haldane, 11th of Gleneagles, son of Sir James Haldane, 10th of Gleneagles and Lady Margaret Murray, on 22 December 1634.4
From after 29 April 1617, her married name became Arbuthnott.1 From 22 December 1634, her married name became Haldane.4 She was living in 1666.2
