Janet Elspeth Sinclair-Wemyss was born on 4 December 1889.3 She was the daughter of Major Robert Dunbar Sinclair-Wemyss.1 She married Major Kenneth Wyndham Arbuthnot, son of William Reierson Arbuthnot and Mary Helen Anstruther, on 26 April 1911.1 She died on 29 January 1982 at age 92.3
From 26 April 1911, her married name became Arbuthnot.1
