Brigadier Charles Edward Tryon-Wilson1
He was given the name of Charles Edward Tryon at birth.2 He was educated at Shawnigan Lake School, Shawnigan Lake, British Columbia, Canada.2 He was educated at Trinity College, Glenalmond, Perthshire, Scotland.2 He was 60th Rifles , Royal Fusiliers 1930–36 and 1938–46, WW II (despatches twice), Brigadier in 1927.2 He fought in the Second World War, where he was mentioned in despatches twice.2 He was appointed Member, Order of the British Empire (M.B.E.) in 1943.2 He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.) in 1944.2 He was appointed Commander, Order of the British Empire (C.B.E.) in 1945.2 On 28 December 1951 his name was legally changed to Charles Edward Tryon-Wilson by Royal Warrant.2 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Westmorland between 1971 and 1974.2 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Cumbria in 1974.2 In 2001 (an unknown value.)2
