Charles George Ammon, 1st and last Baron Ammon1 
Charles George Ammon, 1st and last Baron Ammon was born on 22 April 1873.1 He was the son of Charles George Ammon and Mary Kempley.1 He married Ada Ellen May, daughter of David May, in 1898.1 He died on 2 April 1960 at age 86.1
He was educated at state elementary schools, London, EnglandG.1 He was employed by the Post Office.1 He held the office of Member of the London County Council between 1919 and 1925.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for North Camberwell between 1922 and 1931.1 He held the office of Member of the London County Council between 1934 and 1936.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for North Camberwell between 1935 and 1944.1 He held the office of Alderman of Camberwell Borough Council between 1935 and 1950.1 He held the office of Chairman of the London County Council between 1941 and 1942.1 He was created 1st Baron Ammon, of Camberwell, co. Surrey [U.K.] on 31 January 1944.1 He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) in 1945.1 He held the office of Mayor of Camberwell in 1950.1 He lived at 70 Ferndene Road, Herne Hill, London, EnglandG.1
