     She graduated from Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England^G, with a Master of Arts (M.A.)¹ Her married name became Pery. After her marriage, Sylvia Rosalind Lush was styled as Countess of Limerick on 4 August 1967. Sir Peter Francis Thorne, son of General Sir Augustus Francis Andrew Nicol Thorne and Hon. Margaret Douglas-Pennant, on 16 May 1959.¹

In 1988 Spectrophysics.¹ She was a Senior Research Fellow at Imperial College, London, England^G.¹ She was author of about 100 papers in physics journals.¹ She lived in 2003 at Chiddinglye Farmhouse, West Hoathly, Sussex, England^G.¹

     Lt.-Col. Sir Peter Francis Thorne was born on 6 August 1914.² He was the son of General Sir Augustus Francis Andrew Nicol Thorne and Hon. Margaret Douglas-Pennant.³ He married Lady Anne Patricia Pery, daughter of Edmund Colquhoun Pery, 5th Earl of Limerick and Angela Olivia Trotter, on 16 May 1959.¹ He died on 16 March 2004 at age 89.²
     He was awarded the Emergency Reserve Decoration (E.R.D.)¹ He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Grenadier Guards.¹ He was appointed Commander, Order of the British Empire (C.B.E.)¹ He was appointed Knight Commander, Royal Victorian Order (K.C.V.O.)¹ He held the office of Serjeant at Arms, House of Commons between 1976 and 1982.¹
