Derby [U.K., 1886] on 18 October 1915.2 He was educated at Christ Church, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England.2 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Derbyshire in 1932.2 He held the office of High Sheriff of Derbyshire in 1934.2 He fought in the Second World War.2 He was awarded the Companion, Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.) in 1945 and bar.2 He was awarded the Territorial Decoration (T.D.)2 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Derbyshire between 1948 and 1951.2 He held the office of Lord-Lieutenant of Derbyshire between 1951 and 1982.2 On 20 August 1956 his name was legally changed to Ian Peter Andrew Monro Walker-Okeover by Royal Licence.2 He was admitted to Royal Company of Archers.2 He was appointed Officer, Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem (O.St.J.) in 1974.2
