     Nicholas Cole McClintock was born on 10 September 1916.² He was the son of Colonel Robert Singleton McClintock and Mary Howard Elphinstone.^3,4 He married Pamela Sylvia Mansel, daughter of Major Rhys Clavell Mansel and Sylvia Nina Campbell, on 2 September 1953.¹ He died in November 2001 at age 85 at Dorset, England.²
     He fought in the Second World War, at Dunkirk, and in Burma at Kohima and Imphal.³ He was with the Overseas Civil Service at Nigeria^G.¹ He gained the rank of officer in the Royal Artillery.³ He was appointed Commander, Order of the British Empire (C.B.E.)¹ He was appointed Knight, Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem (K.St.J.)¹

     Colonel Robert Singleton McClintock was born in 1876.² He was the son of Admiral Sir Francis Leopold McClintock and Annette Elizabeth Delap.² He married, firstly, Mary Howard Elphinstone, daughter of Maj.-Gen. Sir Howard Crauford Elphinstone, V.C. and Annie Frances Cole, in 1909.² He married, secondly, Wilhelmina Diana Lenox-Conyngham, daughter of Lt.-Col. William Arbuthnot Lenox-Conyngham and Mina Ethel Lowry, on 2 April 1965.³ He died on 7 June 1968.³
     He was awarded the honorary degree of Doctor of Law (LL.D.)⁴ He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.)¹ He gained the rank of Colonel in the Royal Engineers.¹ He was appointed Fellow, Royal Society (F.R.S.)⁴ He lived at Brakey Hill, Godstone, Surrey, England^G.¹
