     He fought in the Crimean War.1 He was awarded the Victoria Cross (V.C.)1 He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of the Bath (K.C.B.)1

     Hendrik Edgar Cyriax was born on 27 October 1904 at 71 Oakley Street, Chelsea, London, England.1 He was the son of Edgar Ferdinand Cyriax and Anjuta Kellgren.1 He and Leonora Rosina Anna Capello were divorced.1 He married Leonora Rosina Anna Capello.1 He married Patricia Jane McClintock, daughter of Colonel Robert Singleton McClintock and Mary Howard Elphinstone, in 1947.1 He died on 17 June 1985 at age 80 at London, England.1
     He was educated at University College School, London, England.1 He graduated from Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England.1 He graduated in 1938 with a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.)1 His name was legally changed to James Henry Cyriax.1 He wrote the book Textbook of Orthopaedic Medicine, published 1954.1 He was registered as a Member, Royal College of Physicians, London (M.R.C.P.) in 1954.1
