He was educated at Wellington College, Crowthorne, Berkshire, England.2 He fought in the First World War.2 He gained the rank of Captain in the Hertfordshire Regiment (Territorial Army) and 4th Dragoon Guards.2 He held the office of Equerry to HRH The Duke of York between 1922 and 1923.2 He was Steward of the British Boxing Board of Control.2 He held the office of Member of Hertfordshire County Council.2 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Hertfordshire.2 He succeeded as the 13th Baronet Sebright, of Besford, co. Worcester [E., 1626] on 11 September 1933.2 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the 2nd Hertfordshire Regiment.2 He fought in the Second World War.2 He was appointed Commander, Order of the British Empire (C.B.E.) in 1954.2
