Wilhelm II Herzog von Braunschweig-Wolfenbüttel-Kalenberg1 
Wilhelm II Herzog von Braunschweig-Wolfenbüttel-Kalenberg also went by the nick-name of Wilhelm ‘the Younger’.1 He was a member of the House of Guelph.1 He succeeded as the Herzog von Braunschweig-Lüneburg in 1482.1 He gained the title of Herzog von Gottingen in 1483. He abdicated as Duke of Brunswick-Luneburg in 1495.1

William I exchanged Luneburg with his uncle Bernard for Brunswick. Initially Duke of Brunswick-Calenberg. He succeeded his brother Henry as Duke of Brunswick-Wolfenbuttel, and his kinsman Otto (the One Eyed) as Duke of Brunswick-Gottingen.
