Sir William Johnson Taylor, 1st Bt.1 
He was educated at Archbishop Holgate’s Grammar School, Barnsley, Yorkshire, England.1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of the West Riding, Yorkshire in 1943.1 He was appointed Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.) in 1943.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for the West Riding, Yorkshire in 1947.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Bradford North between 1950 and 1964.1 He was appointed Commander, Order of the British Empire (C.B.E.) in 1951.1 He held the office of Parliament Secretary to Minister of Supply between 1957 and 1959.1 He held the office of Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State, Air Ministry between 1959 and 1962.1 He was created 1st Baronet Taylor, of Cawthorne, in the West Riding of Yorkshire [U.K.] on 26 January 1963.1 He held the office of High Sheriff of Hallamshire in 1968.1 He was appointed Commander, Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem (C.St.J.)1 On his death his baronetcy became extinct.2
