     Mary Anne Nicholson was the daughter of George Thomas Nicholson and Ann Elizabeth Smith.¹ She married Sir Douglas Strutt Galton, son of John Howard Galton and Isabella Strutt, in 1845 at St. Andrew, Farnham, Surrey, England.¹ She died on 19 January 1909.¹
