     He was educated at Harrow School, Harrow, London, England.¹ He graduated from Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, in 1924 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)¹ He fought in the Second World War between 1939 and 1945.¹ He gained the rank of Wing Commander in the Royal Air Force.¹

     Barbara Kathleen Elwes is the daughter of Charles Richard Crampton Elwes.¹ She married W/Cdr. Ronald George Moore, son of Sir Edward Moore, 1st Bt. and Florence Mary Georgianna Harveson, on 10 May 1928.¹ She and W/Cdr. Ronald George Moore were divorced in 1942.¹
     From 10 May 1928, her married name became Moore.¹
