     Evan John Mathias was born on 6 May 1900.¹ He was the son of Sir Richard Mathias, 1st Bt. and Annie Hughes.¹ He died on 9 July 1900.¹

     Sir Richard Hughes Mathias, 2nd Bt. was born on 6 April 1905.¹ He was the son of Sir Richard Mathias, 1st Bt. and Annie Hughes.¹ He married Gladys Cecilia Turton Hart, daughter of Edwin Hart, on 1 June 1937.¹ He and Gladys Cecilia Turton Hart were divorced in 1960.¹ He married, secondly, Elizabeth Miles, daughter of Dr. William Miles, on 2 July 1960.¹ He died on 4 January 1991 at age 85.²
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.¹ He was educated at Balliol College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England.¹ He gained the rank of Squadron Leader between 1940 and 1946 in the Royal Air Force Voluteer Reserve.¹ He fought in the Second World War between 1940 and 1946.¹ He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Mathias, of Vaendre Hall, St. Mellons, co. Monmouth [U.K., 1917] on 26 October 1942.¹ On his death, his baronetcy became extinct.²

     Gladys Cecilia Turton Hart is the daughter of Edwin Hart.¹ She married Sir Richard Hughes Mathias, 2nd Bt., son of Sir Richard Mathias, 1st Bt. and Annie Hughes, on 1 June 1937.¹ She and Sir Richard Hughes Mathias, 2nd Bt. were divorced in 1960.¹
     From 1 June 1937, her married name became Mathias.¹

     Edwin Hart lived at New Hextalls, Bletchingley, Surrey, England.¹

     Elizabeth Miles is the daughter of Dr. William Miles.¹ She married, firstly, Douglas Baird Murray.¹ She married, secondly, Sir Richard Hughes Mathias, 2nd Bt., son of Sir Richard Mathias, 1st Bt. and Annie Hughes, on 2 July 1960.¹
     Her married name became Murray.¹ From 2 July 1960, her married name became Mathias.¹

     Dr. William Miles lived at Hendrescythan, Creigian, Glamorgan, Wales.¹

     Douglas Baird Murray married Elizabeth Miles, daughter of Dr. William Miles.¹
