     Lt.-Col. George Trevor Roper Cook was born on 11 August 1877. He was the son of George Ward Cook and Clementina Hadow Trevor-Roper. He married Alice Dorman, daughter of Sir Arthur John Dorman, 1st Bt. and Clara Share Lockwood, on 21 October 1902.1 He died on 26 March 1918 at age 40, killed in action.1
     He was appointed Companion, Order of St. Michael and St. George (C.M.G.)1 He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.)1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the 20th Hussars.1 He fought in the First World War.1
