William Henry Gardner and Elizabeth Lydia Fyers.1 He married Emma Elizabeth Prescott, daughter of Frederick Joseph Prescott and Elizabeth Oliveria Russell, on 25 April 1853.1 He died on 28 June 1857 at age 34 at India, killed in the Indian Mutiny.1
     He gained the rank of Captain in the East India Company Service.1
