Pedro Pablo Dartnell Encina was born on 24 December 1873.2 He was the son of Robert Loder Dartnell and Carmen Encina Ibáñez.1,2 He died on 26 September 1944 at age 70 at Santiago, Chile.2
He was educated at Universidad de Chile, Santiago, Chile.2 He fought in the Chilean Civil War in 1891.2 He gained the rank of Sub-Lieutenant in 1891 in the Chilean Army.1 He was Major of the Military Engineers, Chilean Army in January 1900.2 He was Director-General of the Chilean Air Force in 1919.2 He was a member of the Government Junta in 1925 at Chile.1

Jorge Antonio Chávez Dartnell1 
Jorge Antonio Chávez Dartnell was born on 13 January 1887 at Paris, France.2 He was the son of Manuel Chávez Moreyra and Maria Rosa Isabel Ramona Dartnell Guise.1,2 He died on 27 September 1910 at age 23 at Domodossola, Italy, killed when landing his Bleriot monoplane after crossing the Pennine Alps.2
He was educated in 1908 at Ecole d’Electricité et de Mécanique Industrielles de Paris, Paris, France, engineering degree.2 On 28 February 1910 he received his pilots licence.2
