     Margaret Risk Howie was born on 6 March 1913 at Hurlford, Ayrshire, Scotland^G.¹ She is the daughter of Captain Henry James Howie and Marrion Forrest.¹ She married Matthew Arthur, 3rd Baron Glenarthur, son of James Cecil Arthur of Carlung, 2nd Baron Glenarthur and Evelyn March Phillipps, on 1 September 1939.²
     From 1 September 1939, her married name became Arthur. After her marriage, Margaret Risk Howie was styled as Baroness Glenarthur on 11 December 1942.

     George Crompton Lees-Milne was born in 1880.² He was the son of James Henry Lees-Milne.² He married Helen Christina Bailey, daughter of Henry Bailey and Christina Thomson, on 20 October 1904.¹ He died in 1949.²
