     Sir William Henry Cope, 12th Bt. was born on 27 February 1811.² He was the son of Lt.-Gen. Edmund Reily Cope and Maria Furber.¹ He married, firstly, Marianne Garnett, daughter of Henry Garnett, on 12 August 1834.² He married, secondly, Harriet Margaret Hautenville, daughter of Robert Jaffray Hautenville, on 30 August 1865.² He died on 7 January 1892 at age 80.²
     He gained the rank of officer in the Rifle Brigade.² He succeeded as the 12th Baronet Cope, of Hanwell, co. Oxford [E., 1611] on 18 November 1851.² He was Rector at Easton, Hampshire, England.² He held the office of Canon of St. Peter’s, Westminster.²

     Charlotte Cope was the daughter of Lt.-Gen. Edmund Reily Cope and Maria Furber.¹ She married Reverend Henry Stretton on 8 June 1848.¹ She died on 29 April 1896.¹
     From 8 June 1848, her married name became Stretton.¹
