     He gained the rank of Colonel in the Royal Artillery.¹ He graduated from Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England^G, with a Master of Arts (M.A.)¹ He was appointed Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.)¹

     Stella Villiers-Stuart was born on 25 March 1918.¹ She was the daughter of Colonel John Patrick Villiers-Stuart and Phyllis Mary Read.¹ She married, firstly, S/Ldr. Donald Maitland Wellings, son of Evelyn Valentine Wellings, on 6 September 1941.¹ She married, secondly, Lt.-Col. Anthony Hamilton Gerald Barton, son of Lt.-Col. Richard Lionel Barton and Isobel Violet Leonore Gardiner, on 19 September 1949.¹ She died on 22 March 2015 at age 96.²
     From 6 September 1941, her married name became Wellings. She gained the rank of Assistant Staff Officer in the Women’s Auxiliary Air Force.¹ Her married name became Barton. She lived in 2003 at Manesty Cottage, The Green, Fernhurst, Haslemere, Surrey, England^G.¹

     S/Ldr. Donald Maitland Wellings was born on 2 June 1913 at Warwick, Warwickshire, England.² He was the son of Evelyn Valentine Wellings.¹ He married Stella Villiers-Stuart, daughter of Colonel John Patrick Villiers-Stuart and Phyllis Mary Read, on 6 September 1941.¹ He died on 9 October 1944 at age 31, killed in action.
     He fought in the Second World War. He gained the rank of Squadron Leader in the Royal Air Force.¹ He was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross (D.F.C.)¹

     Lt.-Col. Anthony Hamilton Gerald Barton is the son of Lt.-Col. Richard Lionel Barton and Isobel Violet Leonore Gardiner.^1,2 He married Stella Villiers-Stuart, daughter of Colonel John Patrick Villiers-Stuart and Phyllis Mary Read, on 19 September 1949.¹
     He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Royal Artillery.¹ He was awarded the Military Cross (M.C.)¹

     Donald James Wellings was born on 19 August 1942.¹ He is the son of S/Ldr. Donald Maitland Wellings and Stella Villiers-Stuart.¹
     He was educated at Sherborne School, Sherborne, Dorset, England^G.¹

     Patrick Anthony Richard Barton was born on 15 July 1956.¹ He is the son of Lt.-Col. Anthony Hamilton Gerald Barton and Stella Villiers-Stuart.¹ He married Jennifer Ann Lucas, daughter of Anthony Lucas, in 1980.¹

     Julia Penelope Susan Barton was born on 17 September 1950.¹ She is the daughter of Lt.-Col. Anthony Hamilton Gerald Barton and Stella Villiers-Stuart.¹

     Kathleen Jane Villiers-Stuart was born circa 1873. She was the daughter of Captain Henry John Richard Villiers-Stuart and Jane Rigby Murray.¹ She married Brig.-Gen. Henry Richmond Gale, son of Henry Richmond Hoghton Gale, on 6 May 1903.¹ She died on 28 December 1958.¹
     Her married name became Gale.

     Brig.-Gen. Henry Richmond Gale was the son of Henry Richmond Hoghton Gale.¹ He married Kathleen Jane Villiers-Stuart, daughter of Captain Henry John Richard Villiers-Stuart and Jane Rigby Murray, on 6 May 1903.¹ He died on 29 July 1930.
     He was appointed Companion, Order of St. Michael and St. George (C.M.G.)² He gained the rank of Brigadier-General in the Royal Engineers.² He lived at Bardsea Hall, Lancashire, England^G.¹
