     He was commissioned in 1856, in the service of the Royal Navy.¹ He was Commander-in-Chief of the East Indies Station between 1898 and 1899.¹ He held the office of Second Sea Lord between 1899 and 1902.¹ He gained the rank of Vice-Admiral on 15 June 1901.¹ He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of the Bath (K.C.B.) in 1902.¹ He was Commander-in-Chief of the North America and West Indies Station between June 1902 and 1904.¹ He was appointed Knight Grand Cross, Royal Victorian Order (G.C.V.O.) in 1905.¹ He was Commander-in-Chief of the Portsmouth between 1905 and 1907. He was appointed Knight Grand Cross, Order of the Bath (G.C.B.) in 1911.¹

     Constance Ellen Hawks married Admiral Sir Archibald Lucius Douglas in 1871.¹
     From 1871, her married name became Douglas.¹

     Archibald C. Douglas is the son of Admiral Sir Archibald Lucius Douglas and Constance Ellen Hawks.¹
     He wrote the book Life of Admiral Sir Archibald Lucius Douglas, G.C.B, G.C.V.O, Commander of the Legion of Honour, Order of the Rising Sun of Japan, Spanish Naval Order of Merit, published 1938.¹

     Edward James Wolseley was born in 1851.¹ He was the son of Reverend Robert Warren Wolseley and Georgina Nixon.¹ He died, young.¹

     Edith Anna Wolseley was born on 2 April 1872.¹ She was the daughter of Major William Charles Wolseley and Annie Wolseley.¹ She died, young.¹

     Herbert Cadwallader Wolseley was born on 18 June 1876.¹ He was the son of Major William Charles Wolseley and Annie Wolseley.¹ He died on 20 June 1880 at age 4.¹

     Roderick Mackenzie Scott was born on 26 September 1870 at Tooting, Surrey, England.¹ He was the son of Mackay Hugh Baillie Scott and Martha Jemima Dorr Waters.¹ He married Helen Llewellyn.¹ He died on 25 April 1954 at age 83 at Penzance Nursing Home, Falmouth, Cornwall, England.¹

     Helen Llewellyn was born on 30 January 1878 at Dunchideock, Devon, England.¹ She married Roderick Mackenzie Scott, son of Mackay Hugh Baillie Scott and Martha Jemima Dorr Waters.¹
     Her married name became Scott.¹
