     He gained the rank of Captain in the 60th Rifles.¹

     Harriet Octavia Strachey was born on 27 December 1840.¹ She was the daughter of Richard Strachey and Anne Marie Powell.¹ She married George Vanburgh Law in October 1862.¹ She died on 3 December 1865 at age 24.¹

     From 10 December 1875, her married name became Baker.¹

     John Holland Baker married Isabel Strachey, daughter of Richard Strachey and Anne Marie Powell, on 10 December 1875.¹
     He was Commissioner of Crown Lands at Wellington, New Zealand.¹

     Charlotte Margaret Strachey was the daughter of Sir Henry Strachey, 1st Bt. and Jane Kelsall.¹ She died in 1801.¹
